Cloud Engineer (AWS)

* Contract duration: 12 Months initial (2-3 Years total duration)
* Day Rate: €600 - €900 per day
I am assisting a Swedish Automotive company in the search for a highly skilled and motivated Cloud Architect to join their team and Spearhead the initialisation of their Amazon Web Services migration including governance and account managing.
The Customer has nearly 100 years of market excellence and are at the forefront of their market being a household name across the world. The scope for work and progression is endless.
Glocomms has a long-standing relationship with the customer having already placed numerous contractors with them.
Specific Duties:
- To oversee the creation of Landing Zones with the structure that will meet the customer's needs
- To oversee the Implementation of Terraform for all the migrations and configurations on AWS. As well as the creation of Terraform module for the most use AWS services (EC2, Load Balancer, S3, Lambda & RDS).
- To Migrate the 45 on-premise applications. In particular, specific business applications with version upgrades and DRP implementation.
- To oversee the Migration of Citrix on-premise infrastructure with a version upgrade.
- To implement a new central backup tool on AWS with AWS Backup
- To implement instance reservation and FinOps ritual in order to better manage costs in the cloud.
- To train colleagues in AWS and help them understand the cloud and its new working methods (Code review, infra as code)
- To conduct Change management with the rest of the IT teams with "cloud user" training, awareness of security and FinOps in the cloud.
- Ensure the proper functioning of the group's application infrastructure.
- Attend to any Level 3 Incident requests.
Experience:
- Good technical/architectural experience of Amazon Web Services
- Good technical experience with servers : Windows Server 2012 R2/2016, Red Hat, Centos 7
- Good working knowledge of tooling: GitLab, Terraform, Powershell
- Good technical experience with Databases: SQL Server, MySQL, Postgres, Oracle
- Good technical experience with most use ASW services/tools: EC2, Load Balancer, S3, Lambda & RDS, AWS Backup
