My client is an organization with a significant and exciting foothold in the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) space, that has historically been dependent on a wide network of distributors to reach its end customers. With plans to triple in size over the next three years through both organic and inorganic growth, Strategic Account Managers will be on the forefront of driving this growth by partnering with this extensive network of channel partners, as well as identifying opportunities to sell directly to OEMs or integrators.
The initial focus will be establishing relationships with established channel partners in the geography and determining how best to sell both to and through these distributors. Ongoing focus will be on core industry growth, new opportunities and new technologies to promote, creating demand in the market. The role of the SAM shall expand after a promising first period of 1-2 years to a Sales Manager position, comprising the existing and more European territories incl. HC responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a strategic plan designed to exceed area & growth targets and achieve strategic objectives
- Optimize channel options with Distributors and SI's to best suit market and business objectives
- Manage and roll out of Tier Channel Partner program with defined Elite, Executive and Encore partners
- Engage Field Application Engineers in territory plan to drive growth and maximize customer satisfaction
- Promote new products and technologies to the partners with the help of marketing
- First level manager of the customer and distributor relationship
- Understands competitive positioning and provides regular feedback to sales and marketing management
- Team player who consistently is striving to maximize both within and beyond the assigned territory
Skills and experience required:
- Bachelor's Degree in engineering, business, marketing, or comparable
- 5+ year's sales experience in industrial solutions or technical sales
- Product sales experience in the industrial / factory / IoT automation industry
- Knowledge of Solution Sales Methodology
- Ability to plan and manage at both the strategic and operational level
- Proficiency with English language, both written and verbal communication
- Technical knowledge in automation & software technologies, IT networking architectures as well as OT
- Direct selling or Business Development experience to SI's and accounts in the industrial / factory / IoT automation industry
- Experience managing distribution channel partners, and growing revenue through channel partners in the industrial / factory / IoT automation industry
- Project and Management experience
- Up to 30% travel expectations, primarily driving with occasional air travel
