Responsibilities
- Act as the camera specialist for the team, discern the camera requirements and build calibration algorithms for real-world integration of camera components into autonomous vehicles
- Develop camera systems by creating rectification, calibration and distortion models using binary imaging techniques
- Simulate camera calibration processes and develop evaluation metrics to optimise camera lifespan for long term use in less-than-optimal conditions
- Assimilate optimised camera calibration algorithms into the overarching software platform
- Interface cross-functionally with various teams including perception, engineering and other software teams to optimise the functionality of the Ai and ISP of the camera
What We're Looking For
- M.S or Ph.D in Optics, Image Science, Image Processing, Computer Science or other related technical specialty
- 5+ years of industry experience building out and deploying real products
- Expertise in camera sensors, optics and the imaging pipeline end-to-end
- An in-depth knowledge of camera calibration systems, stereo cameras, distortion models and rectification models
- Expertise in computer vision algorithms and other image processing-related experience
- Mathematical experience in multi-view geometry and non-linear optimization
Compensation
The compensation for this role consists of a base salary and pre-IPO equity, which the base salary is expected to range from $180,000 - $240,000. Various factors including the candidate's overarching experience will influence the base pay offered within the range. This salary range is reflective of a position based in San Francisco, CA. If authorization is granted to work outside of that area, geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state) will be made.
